They’re open for business!
The little country store on the Hana Highway, in Peahi Maui, is open again now that most Covid restrictions have been lifted. The store is stocked with lots of new items, especially JAWS branded merchandise like stickers, t-shirts, and even cell phone covers featuring the iconic huge waves.
There’s more than just schwag and gift items for sale. You can also find snacks and plenty of cold refreshing drinks, including locally made chilled kombucha. The pastry case will soon be filled up with their own baked goods, and the cafe will open again to bring back breakfast and lunch treats. No word on when the pizza oven will fire up again for the evening crowd. But at least for now the store is open and things are picking up. It’s nice to see they survived the pandemic!

Jaws is the popular surf spot along Maui’s north shore, that has become hugely popular as a challenging surf break and site for international competitions. Not only surfing, but all kind of innovative water sports are practiced here, generally in the winter months when wave heights can reach up to 40 feet. Those days of super big waves are rare, but prized by the local crowd who like to participate or just watch from shore.
