28 S. Honokala Rd. #A, Haiku
How about this off-grid country home in Haiku Maui – a 3bed/2bath pole house on about 2.5 acres with great big ocean views and lots of privacy… S. Honokala Rd. is just past Twin Falls on the Hana Highway, and a short drive up the hill brings you to this small subdivision where neighbors have nice homes on a dead end road. This property is the main house portion of a CPR (Condominium Property Regime) and it’s at the end next to a pasture with cows and goats.
Being an off the grid property means you won’t have monthly power and water bills because you can capture your own resources. A photo-voltaic system supplies plenty of power, while propane can supplement those needs. Rainwater is harvested and stored in a 28,000 gallon closed metal tank to supply the house and fire suppression as well. A back up generator is on hand for when the weather is rainy for more than a few days. Starlink or satellite dish are some of the options for internet.
Let me know if you have questions about how off-grid living works here on Maui.
I could go on and on about all the beautiful granite and woods used in this custom built home, but you can just take the tour by clicking the link below and virtually walk through the house. The 1-minute movie shows the area approaching and outside of the house, with the views being the highlight.
