Lineage Maui – traditional plantation food with a twist

lineage maui restaurant

Lineage – a new kind of dining experience for Wailea Maui.

Eat – Drink – Talk Story

Our Realtors Association of Maui recently had a special event at the new Lineage restaurant in The Shops at Wailea.  The restaurant was very accommodating for us, and let us have our meeting early in the day before they opened (normally at 5:00) and provided us with some samples of menu items.  It was a treat to taste the following snack items: chicharon – crispy pig skin with chili pepper water; flying saucers – white bread discs stuffed with goulash and pressed; spam musubi – with homemade spam; pork belly skewers – with guava jelly.

Chef Sheldon Simeon wants to recreate the feeling of family dining in the days when people gathered together to share foods they produced and prepared from local ingredients.  I think he’s done a great job of creating a casual and fun space with a unique menu that should appeal to locals and visitors alike. I really want to go back and try some of the main dishes and craft cocktails, as it all looks amazing.

You’ll find the restaurant right next door to the Island Gourmet Market, on the north side of the shopping center.  Address and contact info is below.
